Muslims Behaving Badly

Isn’t it astonishing that the same people who ranted and raved and marched over Israel’s response to years of terrorism from Gaza, remain silent over the atrocities in Saudi Arabia?

Imagine that the following item involved Israel. I’m sure we can all imagine the furore that would follow. No doubt Annie Lennox would appear on our screens, and the Guardian would spash the story across the front page. Oh, and the BBC would be sure to wade in as well.

But precisely because this travesty is set to occur in a nation other than Israel, the aforementioned parties are, well, distinctly disinterested. Never mind that barbarism like this happens in Islamic nations on a regular basis.

Muslims behaving badly isn’t news, you see .

Via The Australian:

HUMAN rights watchdog Amnesty International has called on Saudi Arabia to stay a sentence of 40 lashes handed down against a 75-year-old woman for breaching the kingdom’s sex segregation rules.

“The minister of the interior (Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz) is reported to have ordered the immediate detention and flogging of a 75-year-old woman, Khamisa Mohammed Sawadi, along with two Saudi Arabian men known only as Fahad and Hadyan,” the London-based watchdog said.

“The Saudi Arabian authorities must not carry out the imminent flogging and imprisonment of an elderly woman and two younger men.”

Amnesty said all avenues of appeal had been exhausted in Saudi courts against the trio’s March conviction for being in the company of members of the opposite sex who were not close relatives.

“It is abhorrent that an elderly woman is at risk of 40 lashes,” said the deputy director of the watchdog’s Middle East and North Africa Program, Philip Luther.
“We urge the authorities to prevent the imprisonment and flogging of Khamisa, Fahad and Hadyan.”

Sawadi and Fahad were sentenced to 40 lashes and four months’ imprisonment, and Hadyan to 60 lashes and six months’ imprisonment, Amnesty said.

Sawadi also faces deportation to her native Syria on completion of her prison term.

Saudi Arabia enforces a strict version of Islamic sharia law and imposes corporal punishment for a wide variety of offences.

When Pictures Speak Louder Than Words

This post is dedicated to those people who constantly insist that Israel is on a ‘land grab’ in the Middle East. The claim would be funny – if millions didn’t believe it.

Let’s make this really simple:

Israel And The Arab Nations
Israel And The Arab Nations

See that tiny blue sliver?

That’s Israel.

Hardly been on a ‘land grab’ now, has it…?

Let’s get more specific:

Israel And Egypt - Israel is in BLUE
Israel And Egypt - Israel is in BLUE

Egypt also has a border with Gaza. And prior to 1967, when Egypt occupied Gaza, it stuck the Palestinian Arabs in camps and then left them there to rot and garner world sympathy. Guess what? The world did not say a damn word. The Palestinians did not protest and they sure as hell didn’t aim deadly missiles into Egypt.  There was no international condemnation of Egypt behaving like ‘Nazis’, despite their abuse of the Palestinians.

Israel And Saudi Arabia
Israel And Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is a known supporter and funder of Islamic terrorism. Saudi Arabia can always be heard lambasting Israel for its ‘expansionist’ desires. Obscene, is it not…? Look at their comparative sizes again.

Now let’s take a good look at the relative sizes of Israel and America. Obama is so obsessed with ordering Israel to give up land – easy for him to demand that, isn’t it? After all, what does he know about living in a country so small that it’s a miracle it’s managed to survive this long surrounded by hostile states dedicated to its destruction?

Israel And America
Israel And America

And especially for my fellow Brits:

Israel (blue) And Britain (yellow)
Israel (blue) And Britain (yellow)

And finally, just to really put it in perspective, here is Israel, compared with Lake Michigan:

Israel (blue) And Lake Michigan (yellow)
Israel (blue) And Lake Michigan (yellow)

So next time you hear someone trotting out the weary old Arab propaganda about Israel being on a ‘land grab’, you’ll know their claims are utter fiction. By looking at these maps, you’ll perhaps now also realise that if Obama and the Arab and Muslim worlds get their way, you won’t be able to see Israel on any map for that much longer.

Saudi Arabia: Obama’s New Best Friend

IN a move that has stunned the relatives of the 9/11 victims, Barack Obama has petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to protect Saudi Arabia and four Saudi princes from being held accountable for their role in the 9/11 terror attacks

The Obama administration has asked that the Saudis be held immune under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, or FSIA.   The move has outraged the families of the 9/11 victims, as there is plenty of evidence of complicity by the Saudi government and the named princes in support of al-Queda’s attack.
While the FSIA generally protects a sovereign state, there are exceptions under which its provisions can be invoked. Such interpretations are left largely to the courts to determine.
Families of the 9/11 victims have expressed outrage over the Obama administration’s filing.

In its recent friend-of-the-court brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court in “Federal Insurance Co. vs. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the Obama administration asked the court to deny a petition for a “writ of certiorari,” or higher court hearing, by the families of the victims of 9/11 in their effort to sue Saudi Arabia and its princes.

In the original case filed in 2006, the families of the 9/11 victims allege Saudi Arabia and four Saudi princes acting in their capacity as high-level government officials and as individuals made donations to charitable organizations with the knowledge that the charities were diverting funds to al-Queda. In response, the Saudi government invoked the FSIA as a basis to preclude a lawsuit by the 9/11 victims’ families.

In August 2008, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the 2006 ruling by U.S. District Judge Richard Casey in dismissing the claim against Saudi Arabia. The dismissal covered the four princes, a Saudi banker and a Saudi charity. In addition, the appeals court said that the exceptions to immunity didn’t apply since the State Department had not designated Saudi Arabia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

There appears, however, to be a possible conflict in what the FSIA allows and a portion of a U.S. statute [28USC1605(a)] which states, in effect, that a foreign state shall not be immune from the jurisdiction of U.S. courts if the attack and funding for it occurred in the U.S.

Fifteen of the 19 terrorists who hijacked U.S. aircraft and crashed them into the World Trade Center and Pentagon on 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia and were affiliated with al-Queda. Intelligence and past actions link the Saudi government and the four princes with al-Queda.

Peter Leitner, who has assisted terror victims’ families successfully in suing terrorist organizations for the past 12 years, stated: “In effect, the U.S. Government announced its opposition to allowing 9/11 victims and their families full access to the U.S. legal system in (the government’s) effort to protect Saudi Arabia and its princes from being held accountable for their role in the attack on the United States.”

“As power of Attorney for the family and estate of John P. O’Neill, former FBI (counter-terrorism) expert, I find it disgusting that the Obama administration has spat in the faces of these victims just as (Obama) prepares to leave for Egypt and Saudi Arabia while advocating for the closing of (the U.S. Guantanamo prison in Cuba) and giving full access to the U.S. court system to the terrorists currently imprisoned there,” he added.
