A young Jewish student has just been gunned down in broad daylight – and police have stated that the motive for the murder was hatred of Jews. Simple as that. Now a nationwide hunt is on and Jewish groups have been warned they are a target.
Johanna Justin-Jinich was busy working at a bookstore when she was shot repeatedly. The killer has been named as Stephen Morgan, aged 29.
“This was not a random act of violence,” Middletown, Conn., Police Chief Lynn Baldoni told reporters Thursday. “Evidence uncovered overnight suggests that Mr. Morgan may be focused on the Wesleyan campus as well as the Jewish community.”
Morgan apparently kept a diary, in which he detailed his plans for targetting Jewish students at Wesleyan. He had already sent threatening emails to Johanna Justin-Jinich.
